Last night on National Geographic channel the series Massive Machines featured the return of the 1992 stock refurbished trains to the Waterloo and City Line.
A very interesting episode detailing the intricacies and difficulties surrounding the crane movements involved.
Excellent graphics combined with lots of film footage (at Doncaster and Waterloo ...as well as some shots of '92 stock on the Central) and interviews taken on the days surrounding the move and the moves themselves.
National Geographic tend to repeat these type of documentaries regularly, and I throughly recomed you all keep an eye out for this one !

Must admit a very good program for a sky channel.
Thought the other portion of the program with the sky plane thing was a little obsessive - all that money to raise (or not) an old plane from the bottom of a Canadian lake.

Oh this was on Channel 5 some time back under the title 'Big Moves' or something. It worried me that the guy in charge of the order which the cars went back down didnt know how the numbering scheme worked, sending a car out of sequence...

I think the series is :-
Massive Machines
and the episode :-
Huge Moves
for anyone scanning the TV schedules.
At least thats how it was billed by National Geographic.

It's on Australian Pay TV next Tuesday(May 15th). Same Channel. It's Titled: Huge moves according to the Foxtel TV Guide. I'll have a watch.
