The Class 73 is one ouf ours and is 73204... The ex military Rustons just couldn't cope. There is talk of sending 73207 (stored at Tonbridge) as well which is a runner,(despite appearances). The rest of the fleet will be cycling through works for Bogie overhauls & this would free up a main line registered engine.

Exiting New Cross station today (with a valid NR priv ticket from London Bridge), I was suprised to find that the gates still open using an LU staff pass! No reason for this to be so anymore since no TFL services currently serve the location!

Ah but won't the East London Railway be a TfL operated service?
Assuming that to be the case, and given that the East London line replacement buses still serve the location, I don't see why it would be a surprise....

It will be, but not until 2010; and there is no service one can travel on using a TFL staff pass at New Cross at present.
