I have looked all over the internet, and all over this forum (Colin!!!) and cannot find an answer.

Can anyone produce a list of what stock has been used on ELL since 1945? For example I have heard 38ts was used at one point but can find no reference to it anywhere

Does anyone know of a complete list from the end of the war to the present? Even wikipedia (ChrisM) can't tell me!

1946 = the original 'C' 'D' 'E' District line stock [re-designated 'H' for hand-worked doors]
1952 = 'F' stock [Tanks]
1963 = 'Q' Stock
1972 = COP stock [5 car trains]
1974 = 1938 stock
1978 = 'A' stock
1982 = 'D' stock
1985 = 'A' stock

Not sure if the dates are exact after 1972 but the sequence is correct. There was a feasibility study taken in 1981 I think as to the benefits of using 4 car trains of 'R49/59' stock until life expired. Obviously it was decided against
