The implication of TheOneKEA's comment is that the signalling issues only happen when the train is running under its own power. In which case stock transfers could be done with battery locos.

just wondering, with ATO coming in in the near future, will CX be included on it, and with the improved signalling, possible to send, say, one train in 4 over to CX without hurting the JLE service? The JLE needs all the trains it can get. If 1/4 trains were sent to CX, then the number of trains running on the JLE would not increase from the present figures. This would obviously would not be popular with the majority of Jubilee Line customers who are presently travelling to and from Docklands on rather packed trains! Anyway, wasn't there a crazy idea to send the DLR to Charing X? is there any rail conection from the jubby - bakerloo? On top of the comments already made in this thread, the track maps linked to in my signature may help explain things.

Any stock transfers of 96TS are usually a unit at a time between battery locos with Schoma locos acting as match wagons.
