They've revised the one for Canary Wharf too. It now says: "Change for the DLR", rather than "Change for the Docklands Light Railway".

Thankfully I got them all recorded before they changed.

Have any others changed apart from Canning Town and Canary Wharf then? yes loads have, it is weird because it says "this station is" in the old voice and in a new high pitched voice says the station and all that, the terminus is still the original voice from 1999 (IIRC)

I hadn't made that connection (although I thought it sounded distinctly odd) on the CW one. Might go for a jaunt up the top end of the line this arvo and have a listen to some of the others.

The trains which have had the new announcements uploaded on often crash (the computer that is, not the train hehe ;D ) for example.. at Canning Town W/B the announcements will stop, and wont play at all until, for example, Green Park, then it will start again but play all the missed out announcements from Canning Town very annoying! Also it is affecting the destination/train no displays on the front of train, as they are often failing as well. I don't know what is going on !

at least they haven't replaced her with Emma. Get her on there! The Central Line DVA is world class! Come to think of it, I don't think Emma can be put onto a CELIA type DVA. I think it's a different setup on the 95/96 units, with more of it actually being done by a computer......could be wrong though.....this is just the impression I have of it.

Yeah but that has always happened, its usually down to the train not stopping accurately I believe.

I admit, I dispise of the Jubilee line DVA. Was the one who read out "Change for Docklands light railway" someone different? Is Anita the lady who does the Jubilee? I know Celia and Sonia both are no longer used. uk.youtube.com/watch?v=mMNPgyjE4sA&feature=relatedIf u look at the link^^towards the end you will hear a mans voice on the DVA. I heard this for real the other day and it made me laugh as I had a suspicion it was the "mind the gap" and "Stand clear of the doors, please" man! Quite abnormal I have to say.

I think, although I'm not sure that the male voice is used for out-of-course announcements to draw your attention to it. I first heard it when Westminster was still being built and it came up with "Attention - Westminster Station is closed" or something like that.

Yeah they call them train messages, there are 9 in total and they can only triggered by the train operator.

Anita is the older sounding voice stating the trains destination, but when the 1996's first entered service she used to announce the stations as well. Then the software on the trains were upgraded during 2002/2003 and the announcement system changed to what it is now, the lower toned female voice known as Celia announcing the stations, and the old original Anita voice stating the destination.

Is Celia or Anita featured on the Northern Line too as they sound quite similar?
A website tells me Celia is the one on the Northern Line, but the announcer on the Northern Line sounds much higher than the low-pitched celia on the jub?

At one time, Anital was nicknamed "Liz", because she sounds like the Queen! And what about the male voice that announces "This train terminates here - all change please!" - does he have a name? It's a good, old fashioned stern sounding voice, a bit like the "shouty man" mind the gap warnings.
Also noted is that the 96TS DVA seems to have been updated to reflect the closure of the East London Line at Canada Water. It now says "This station is Canada Water - change here for the East London Line replacement bus service". Amazingly quick update in less than a week, when you consider that it took 9 years for the Central line DVA to be updated!

I could swear Anita does not sound like the queen. When she says "This train terminates at Weemmmmbly Parrk" the park makes her sound rather cockney.

the old one on the jubilee does sound remarkebly like the queen old as in "old lady" or old as in out of date? In fact on the link from Jimbo I had a listen and your right anita does sound like the queen when she does "This train terminates at North greenwich"!! ;D Wembley park is much different however.
