Why is the track east of the tunnel portals so noisy? Whenever an eastbound train changes from the slab track to the sleeper track, you hear all sorts of rubbing and banging from outside. Likewise, the rest of the track is equally noisy as well.
Yet the new track being laid in northwest London on the Met slow lines is not noisy at all! How can this be?
