Day off, so a short journey to the parts not visited recently. Walk from Tower Hill to Fenchurch Street, and then across the water to London Bridge for a coffee and then on to Waterloo for the Ian Allan shop. Onto Southwark. A train pulls in. PA rattles, sounds like he dropped the handset, and the comes out with, in a completely fed up tone: "This train will be delayed, we will remain here, this train will be delayed, you are advised to take the main line trains." Great!
Eventually we moved off to Waterloo, and he repeated the same thing. I must say, he sounded very content with his employment...

P'raps he was half an hour past his meal break (and at the wrong end of the line!)

Maybe he's just fed up with working on LUs worst line (open to debate ). After reading the lastest edition of Underground News, it seemed that nearly all signal or point failures for that month were either on the Jubilee or Northern!
