On my way home from work today [was quite tired, and was nodding into slumber every now and again]. Train approaches Camden platform 3, and I am PRETTY sure the DVA said all the normal stuff about Camden, except the last set of doors wont open, and move to the front doors etc. Train berths, and last set of doors open, to my surprise, despite always remaining closed every time I pass through, has been the case as far as I remember [did the 59ts cut out the last set of doors as well?] Is this a new thing?

Yes, travelling through Camden Town the other day, I'm sure I didn't hear the last doors won't open announcement either!

C'mon guys - don't leave us in suspense.
Has LU carried out a H&S / Operational Cost Cutting exercise, and decided the electricity saved on shortening the DVA announcement will outweigh compensating a few passengers dropping straight down into the tunnels?
Has LU perfected an reverse-circumcision operation and added a few feet to the platform lengths during routine overnight maintenance so the station now fits the trains?
Has someone measured a train and decided the current stock's doors will all open within the platform after all, because the last time they checked it was when the 59's were introduced?
Has the anti-graffiti chemical removal treatment on the outside skins shrunk the lengths of all the cars by a few inches each so they now all fit the platform?
Has the DVA message been recently re-recorded and missed out quite an important bit of info. relating to passengers alighting at Camden Town by oversight?
Please further clarify.....
:-)
cheers, OngarParkNRide

There were no door cut outs required at Camden Town on a 59ts. The main ones were Stockwell N/b (front), Euston bank branch S/b (rear), and Charing Cross N/B (front). If I think of any more i'll amend this list as I'm remembering back from 1999, but Camden definitely wasn't one of the,.

Moorgate s/b (front), and Clapham Common s/b (rear) are the two I'm aware of.
