Things like this happen quite regularly but always amaze me. I can imagine kids playing on open stretch track, people walking alongside it or trying to cross it. Stupid but I can see how it's done.
But now, how can people walk in the narrow tunnels of the Central or Northern Line? If you're not electrocuted you'll be run over by the first train because there's nowhere to run. Do these people just walk off the platform edge? Are they drunk? Intentionally foolish? Trying to kill themselves? Fleeing from the Police/LU staff? Who sees them walking in the tunnel? Surely it can't be a driver because it'll be too late to brake anyway.
Anyone care to explain? Been involved in things like this?

Well being a teenager myself, i doubt it will be teenagers, most of them think its more rebellion to do it in the evening in which they mainly walk the tracks to graffiti. it was proberly some drunk people

It was between Clapham and Stockwell according to the radio message I received.
As for reasons, I think you have covered most of them mate.
There have been a few trespasser on the track incidents this week. The District was paralysed yesterday [as well as the Circle] due to a trespass incident at Embankment. The disruption must have been bad, as people were urged to use SWT [Richmond] and FGW Link [Ealing Bdy].

Indeed, I was a witness to one of them the other day at Leicester Square on the NB Northern line. A drunk was staggering along the platform toward two females, so I had my eye on him. After a few comments, he continued to the north end of the platform, and as I heard an approaching train, he climbed down onto the metals!
I started running to him but luckily there was another customer closer who had already yelled at him and pulled him out in time. I was quite surprised at how hard I took it, even though nothing happened and my knees felt quite weak. It felt a little like when you see your life flashing before your eyes, only it wasn't my life...
I tried to get the train operator's attention, but he obviously didn't see me waving at him, so I made my way through the car and banged on the j-door. He was surprised when I told him that the drunk had been down on the track (he had been beyond the curvature of the platform when it occurred), and assured me that he would tell the controller.
By the time I had thought about the correct thing to do (get out and wait on the platform), he had closed the doors and we were off. I suppose I should have got off at TCR and returned.

That does make more sense doesn't it, but over the last few days has shown different, or people have completely lost it!

In the 1980s as an AET received a call that trains where being tripped between signals believe it was Tooting area. A long way from station observed a bundle of rags at side of track. Alighted after taking drivers key and found the remains of a dead tramp. Fun started when the motorman who was standing in the cab door asked me what it was. On being told he promptly fainted & fell off the train. Out cold with me thinking what the Fxxx do I do now. Good old guard came to the rescue after a intercom call. What would happen these days with OPO.
