While disembarking from car 3073 of a northbound train at Victoria today, the rear leaf of the front offside double doors decided that it wasn't going to open! After jostling it a bit and getting no response, I knocked on the droplight in the cab, and told the T/Op that the door was stuck. He stuck his head out the window, saw the door leaf still closed, and asked me to kick it a few times. After a liberal application of this request , the door leaf refused to budge. The T/Op then went and hit a control in the cab which shut the doors on the front two carriages only, to make sure that the forward leaf still worked (it did). After doing so, he thanked me for pointing it out and then went back into the cab, presumably to get on the radio to inform the LC. What controls did the T/Op use to get only some of the doors to close?

It may have been modded since I worked on 67TS,but as built they didn't have selective close, just end door cut out in case of slight overruns.

Selective close (as fitted to C and D stocks) closes 3 sets of doors in each car, leaving one set open. I believe C69 stock was the first to have this feature.

I remember (at least 7 years ago) on a picc or Victoria line train (it was a while back ;D, I can't remember) from the center back the doors closed but from the center forward they were open, I had always thought it was people messing in the middle cab, but then again...

Odd things can happen if you only give the door close button a quick dab rather than pressing it in firmly.

That sounds like dirty coupler studs to me.

There is no selective close facility on 1967 stock, since they were not intended for use in "open" stations in inclement weather (Yes, I know they worked on the Central for a while ...cold i bet ..no heaters either !)
There is selective re-open, operating the doors open controls with no doors closed visual indiated "pilot light" will only reopen the doors on the car(s) where they have failed to close. This can be over ridden with a plunger to release all doors on a push of the doors open buttons.
The doors of the leading car only, can be cut out from the leading cab, in case of overruns, they can be closed in isolation from the other 7 cars using this, if all the doors are open.
as ADW says, a dab of the doors open or doors close buttons will often cause a random selection of leaves to open or close. (and not just on 1967 stock)
Usual cause of jammed doors is somthing blocking the runner, a shove usually frees it, though passengers holding doors have been known to knock them off the runner and get the whole train withdrawn from service. Less often a single door mechanism may fail, with the locking bar in place, the door will not open no matter how much it is shoved.
Not sure that explains the drivers ability to close the doors on the front two cars only, no such facility, so perhaps this confirms there was a defect on the door control electrics for the train.

How in hell would LU run a service without the help of ONEkea helping us out eh ;D ;D ;D

You give me entirely too much credit Seriously though, I'm certain that the T/Op managed to close the first two cars only - I saw people getting on the train down at the far end of the platform!
