OK - this may seem like a very stupid question, but how early do trains tend to stable? Not in the middle of the morning peak, surely?
Finsbury Park station Northbound - Platform 2 View pop up departure board
Destination Due in Location Walthamstow Central 4 mins Between King's Cross and Highbury & Islington Walthamstow Central 8 mins Between Oxford Circus and Warren St Seven Sisters (62/3 Roads) 13 mins Victoria Platform 3
Could this be due to a defective train (possibly) or something?

I'm sure a member of LU staff will be able to answer this better, but there is an early stabler, which is then used as a spare train. This requires an extra train in service compared to previous timetables, but doesn't compromise the frequency of the line.
However, the train in question may not have been that train, and may have been defective.

The first train at SMD AM enters the depot at approx 08:15.
