I've read that Brixton will be closed for a few weeks over the Easter period, with trains beinmg tipped out at Stockwell, and running empty to/from Brixton. Given the need for tipping out at Stockwell, does anyone know if a temporary timetable will be implemented with fewer tph, or will the full 2min frequency be maintained during this period?

[*rasping of lips*]
I guess the service will be reduced slightly, and I hope that a Step Back system is introduced for the T/Ops, if this is an available option. IIRC, there was a similar occurence of this in the late 1980's/early 1990's, which went a bit skew-whiff to say the least... Whats happening anyway??? Major TRP or station mods?

I would assume that stepping back would take place as usual at Brixton, just minus the passengers. If the platforms at Brixton were to be closed to staff too, then I would assume that trains would terminate at Victoria instead. But I may be wrong.

I do know there will be a temporary timetable for this Brixton station closure with a reduced level of service.
I ain't too sure about the stepping back thing, (I thought Brixton station was going to be closed over Easter bank holiday only!) - when I get back to work tomorrow, I'll check it out.
One thing you all may be interested in, is that this year sees the return of something rare on the Victoria Line - weekend suspensions due to engineering work! There are quite a list of planned supsensions for later this year. Many of them, involve blocking access to Northumberland Park Depot (example no service Kings Cross to Seven Sisters) - as a result there will need to be outstabling of trains in platforms and sidings - and a significantly reduced service from the lack of capacity.
The exact dates are still a mystery as its dependent on what other sections of the tube are shut that weekend, and also whether Arsenal or Spurs will be playing at home - so trying to find several dates that avoids these clashes, is like trying to find a needle in a haystack.
The last time this was done was in 1999, I think.

The closure is the 8th to 17th April. Interesting. Do you happen to know the locations where trains will be out stabled in platforms? (I would assume Brixton, Victoria, and Kings X sidings would be fully utilised). As a side point, on some European metros, particularly in Paris, trains are often stabled in platforms or on the line overnight.

Yeah all those sidings are to be utilized. I also believe that Pimlico station both platforms will be used to outstable trains! And a few other stations as well, coz there must be quite a few needed. Clearly at start of traffic, these trains stabled in platforms would need to run straight away otherwise they will just block the whole service. When I found out more, I'll let you know.

Interesting choice. Maybe it's because it is close to Victoria, or maybe because it's not being refurbished at the time?

I just found out that with the Brixton station closure, there will still be stepping back, with the temporary timetable.
What will happen is that the off peak service of 20 TPH reversing at Brixton, which involves stepping back, will remain and be extended throughout the day, replacing the few hours of higher TPH for rush hour.
This is simply because of the detrainment allowance (1 minute) needed at Stockwell station SB, meaning that you can run a max of 20 TPH through Stockwell (with a 2 minute headway) - and thats what they are going for throughout the day.

Pimlico, Stockwell and Vauxhall have all been mentioned, as well as the sidings at Brixton, Victoria - and perhaps Kings Cross, unless the shutdown means no service north of Warren Street. And there will also need space to stable a spare train somewhere, probably Victoria sidings for use in the day as necessary. The problem is at the moment there are several variations of which part of the line will be shut, so each shutdown will have different requirements
