Was flicking through one of the rail mags the other day, found an article that reckons it's "nailed on" that the Bakerloo will go to Watford Junction, the extra stock will be made up by redunant 67's from the Victoria Line.I reckon they'd have to use the units that have 72TS cars in the middle and make them leading ends as they have the right type of TBC,the 67 ones are a strain to use for any length of time. Also SCAT and OPO alarms would have to be fitted.

I think that was mentioned in Modern Railways. If it is the case, then it looks like some 67s will be around for another 10 years. They'll be nearly 50 when retired! I assume the rest of the 67s will be used for spare parts.

Will Metronet have the nerve to claim that the 67s are "new" trains on the Bakerloo?

They'll also have the fun of fitting CSDE and of course tripcocks.

the 67's are the biggest heap of garbage on lul, Only 3 or 4 new years and they will hopefully be replaced by the new trains, now being built. First one is due to arrive in 2007, with introduction being completed *by* 2009

Considering the ambitious use of technology for the time they were built,67TS have been quite reliable,it's only old age that's bringing down the reliability figures now.

Hmm......slight problem there, I'm not in the employ of LUL, will BVE do? But I agree that those trains are ageing now, bring on the 2009TS to my local line!

Unfortunately standards have slipped, when I was on the Victoria the drivers were all senior men and the fitters had to pass a 4 week course at White City to work on the stock so the trains were well looked after and the drivers were exprienced men.Now it seems anyone with hardly any time on the job can work on there these days.

All stocks deteriorate with age and use [look at me for instance] but it is exacerbated by the slap dash methods of maintianence use today
Even refurbs don't always work. the new GNER 'Mallards' are worse than they were before. They can't hold a candle to the HST sets.

But I agree that those trains are ageing now, bring on the 2009TS to my local line! i actually live very close to a vic line station , although i am very happy on the picc, if the new stock is really gonna be that good, i may consider a change , although, a.t.o. working is terribly tedious , shifts seem to last longer than they actually are
