So there there will new trains for the future that metronet (correct me if i am wrong please) will be providing.
This will be interesting i think but i'm wondering, if they are going to be a standard design through the whole network do you not think that it will take some of the interest out of the underground network.
I rather like all the different age train stock, and seeing the differing styles and the progression of the design on refurbs of different stock.
I like Bakerloo line stock most: Functional and ageless.
Any views on this?

Basically yes, that will be the situation - certainly on the 'Sub-Surface' lines, and I suspect on at least some of the tube lines too - there's already a fair bit of information around concerning the new tube stock for the Bakerloo and Victoria lines.
I suppose that nowadays it's almost inevitable that new trains will be built to a common design (and probably common components for different 'sizes' of trains as with LU) - it all helps to keep costs down.
Of course, this isn't actually something new - LU used the 'Standard' stock in the 1920's which was replaced by the ubiquitous 38 stock, which served on most tube lines. It was only in the late 50's that different stcks started appearing on a line by line basis (at least in London Transport terms).
Your 'favoured' stock is of course an example of a standard design - the current Victoria Line stock is essentially the same, and the C Stock is too, albeit with a different body arrangement.
But I understand your affection for it - though for a different reason! I did do some of my training on that stock and have some 'interesting' memories of it!
From a purely passenger point f view, I don't think the vast majority care what they are carried in - all they want is to get to their destination on time.

I'm in two minds about what my favourite stock is. I like the seats in the A stock, but I like the roominess and the flooring in the D stock. Unfortunately, it looks like the D stock's going to be refurbed beyond all recognition.  |

"Beyond all recognition!" is a bit strong!!
Once you see the 'proper' refurbished units out & about, you'll wonder what you were fussing about! As the only major changes are to the wooden floor & the seating moquette- the general layout stays the same.
So don't fret too much! They'll still look the 'same'.
