I have a couple of questions about the VLU concerning capacity.
1) The new signalling has been specified with station run out run in times having to be below a set amount of time? Does anyone know what this time is? (I have observed occasional run out run in times on the Victoria Line of 60secs, and consistant run out run in times on the Central Line of 57-58secs despite its more advanced signalling!)
2) The line capacity will be increased from 28-30tph to 33tph. To get this number of trains through Brixton's crossover, is it likely that the stopping point on approach to the crossover will be moved closer to the crossover? (I think its approx 100m away at present). Or will the improved train performance and/or faster interlocking speeds and switch throw times be used to increase the capacity?

As an ex-employee on WAGN and daily passing Northumberland Park, I have often wondered if you guys can tell me when you leave the depot and go into the tunnel before Tottenham Hale, where do you join the line to Victoria please? I know you have to join somewhere, but when I have been a passenger on this line, I have tried to see where you would join the 'main' line as such, but to no avail. Thank you.

In case no-one else replies, Mr Knight's excellent online track map shows you: www.chesapeake.net/~cambronj/lu/track_schematics/victoria.jpgHere's another map: www.simonclarke.org/lul/maps/vic_strip.gifI was on the Auto Tube Rambler railtour around 1980 and we went up the link from Seven Sisters to Norhumberland Park Depot, and then out again. There is or was a staff halt that enabled staff to get to work using trains entering/exiting the depot. On the way down the t/op decided to show what would happen if the train was in auto mode. It suddenly came to a sharp halt at the designated spot that they mentioned.

It joins/leaves the main line just north of Seven Sisters.

Thank You very much indeed for this info guys. Greatly appreciated. When I worked for WAGN, I was told by a Senior that his son worked as a Driver on there and he would TRY to arrange a trip from 'The Park' for me, but it never did come off.
I have had the tremendous pleasure of a 'Cab Ride' on the District Line from Upminster to Richmond and return many years ago and had a SUPERB driver both ways. That is not because of the ride, but because they were BOTH true Gents. They won't remember me, but IF they are reading this, THANK YOU Gents.
