Gawd, the track on the Victoria Line doesn't half bash your ears in!!!
I was heading north on the Vic today, and several times the crashing and bashing and grinding was so loud that I nearly stuck my fingers in my ears to alleviate it. I thought the BCV rail grinder was designed to help cut down on track noise of this sort - does the track need replacing?

I think that the noise, the rollercoaster ride in places and the knowledge that a computer has driven the line for over 30 years make the Victoria line the most exciting. I'm sure it doesn't go *that* fast but it sure feels like it's only just clinging to the rails.
Having said that the Northern n/b up from the Tootings has some incredible lateral jolts that nearly knock you off your seat. Now that's just scary whereas the Vic line is fun. A bit like the difference between Oblivion and Nemesis at Alton Towers.

It is a fast lin compared to others as most of the line speed is 45mph..
