I expect that H&C servcies will continue to show 'HAMMERSMITH via Shepherd's Bush'. After all A stock trains only show 'HARROW' on their fronts and this hasn't been a problem for years! What did previous stocks show on the H&C? Here's what I am aware of: 1906 stock [HAMMERSMITH] M stock [HAMMERSMITH via Kings X] and? (C)O stock [HAMMERSMITH via?....] Paddington

Was that was during the 'no guard available' era in the 70s? Yes. It was not unknown for C Stocks to stable in Ricky sidings. There was also a regular (timetabled)early morning working of a Circle to Rayners Lane and reverse in the siding.

Well I guess the 'via Paddington' bit won't be much help anymore!

Didn't back in the really dim and distant you have New + L.B.S.C. on the Hammersmith and City?
Edit: Ignore me - I'm thinking in the wrong direction - back to my afternoon snooze...... ;D

There was also a regular (timetabled)early morning working of a Circle to Rayners Lane and reverse in the siding. Whatever for? To carry crew? Just to fill in a gap in the service and to keep crews familiar with reversing there. Some Circles used to run down the local (Bakerloo Line then) between Neasden and W Hampstead and stop at the stations too. When the staff shortages were very bad in the early 70s and there were a lot of cancellations on the Bakerloo, passengers used to wave at Mets passing on the fast to attract their attention to their plight. If I saw this, I would blow up at Finchley Road and tell the Inspector to ask the controller to send a Met down the local to pick the Bakerloo punters up.

Were these Circles that traversed the Met as far as Rayners operated with CO/CP stock and/or C stock?

When I worked at Neasden it was all CO/CP Stock. I would think it went on until Circles were no longer stabled at Neasden. Can anyone confirm?
