Discussion on another thread about the low usage of Royal Oak station, despite its relatively central location.
Wasn't there a suggestion of closing it a few years ago (not that I want them to, as I use it now and then)?
Also, since the "country" end of Paddington H&C's platforms are almost underneath the new yuppie paradise of "Paddington Central", was there ever any suggestion of providing access between the two? (If it was lifted, that would sort Disability Discrimination Act compliance as well...)

wow what a great thread! i used to work on this group but its been about 5 years now, i can't comment on royal oak so much but with paddington sub and the docklands mk2 we kept hearing about another exit to bishops bridge, you see there is an overbridge from the end of the platforms, thy're sort of condemnd but can be used in emergencies anyway there was a link to bishops bridge but i was there before it got the reworking and the raising, i heard there was going to be a new exit built at the bride with a full ticket office this was 5 years back now if it hasn't been done by now then when?

I don't think the other thread mentioned a low usage, it just picked up on the fact that statistically, it is the least used station on the line. Its not in the same league as Roding Valley which is the least used on the central line and the network as a whole believe me!
