The famous English journalist and political agitator William Cobbett (1763-1835) - more details here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Cobbettat one time cultivated a smallholding in Kensington (from where he set off on his "Rural Rides"). I've just discovered, from Richard Ingrams's excellent biograhpy where exactly this was. It was just where High Street Kensington station now is. Why isn't there a "blue plaque" somewhere on the station (in the ticket hall, I suppose) to commemorate him? And who should I lobby to get this put to rights? (Far more useful than renaming Aldgate East "Brick Lane" IMHO.)

Reading a bit more I find though that:
This suggests that if a plaque is to be erected it will not be a blue plaque. This to me says that it will be the perview of TfL, LU or Metronet to sanction it. I would suggest that your first port of call be TfL.

The same mentality - as in 'this very building or one that looks quite like it' is one of the reasons why the putative burial place of Boudicca isn't commemorated at Kings Cross.
I can wholeheartedly understand the reasons why 'blue plaquing' is confined to the buildings, rather than the site; but for utterly personal reasons I think Boudicca should be commemorated.

Isnt she commerated with a statue on the Embankment?

Yeah, but that has no relevance to either her last battle or her burial place.

Fair enough - but perhaps a blue plaque to Harry Potter at KX ;D I'd like to see one at Euston - seeing as she confused the two, and KX already has a luggage trolley embedded in one of the brick pillars...

Aye, actually quite novel of network rail to "celebrate" the fact. I can remember the launch of the latest book and loads of kids in wizard costumes waiting to have their photo taken.
Perhaps NR could tie in with JKR for a safer railway campaign?
