I've just noticed that the TfL site is showing that the Circle has severe delays clockwise only due to lack of available trains.
I know all-but nothing about running a railway, but I'd have thought that it would be preferable in this situation to reform a couple of anti-clockwise trains into clockwise services to fill some gaps. This would result in minor delays to the anti-clockwise service but improve the clockwise delays from major to minor.

Well the circle is what.........every 7.5 minutes? So reforming a couple of trains, well your going to screw up the other direction as well.
Correct me if I am wrong, but when the circle has delays, a lot of the time its on the inner rail?

The Circle has a "Service Promise" ;D of a train every 8 1/ 2 days. What has probably happened is that there have been some cancelled trains (say 201 and 203) and then 202 has gone Out Of Service or become cancelled. This then leaves 3 trains on the bonce cancelled. Once another circle gets to Edgware Road (or Moorgate if Outer to Inner) it could be reversed to help even out the pain. The Circle some days is reformed all day long (back 1 or 2) if they keep losing time on the District. Two trains will usually be cancelled to provide operators to get back to "right time". Also if there is a Staff Shortage of Operators, then they will "line up" the cancellations so that only one train would be cancelled. Oh, and don't always believe the reason that they put out is the truth Personally I think they should reduce the advertised service down to 10 mins If this was a london bus service, I'm sure TfL wouldn't be too happy........

So the bombed cars are still out of service? Will they ever return?

It says lack of trains; What about that one that bashed the stops at Hammer 9 road? Is that still there? It's been moved outside the shed and looks like it's on the 'to do list' for repair. The remains of the buffer stop are still laying in the pit. I'm on ATOR this week and had the C stock refresher at Hammersmith on sunday (as trainers don't work bank holidays ) - I can certainly understand why they are having stock shortage problems with the C's....................as I say, the one that hit the buffers is still battle scared.........there was a unit in the lifting shop, a couple more units coupled with an adapter & most of the seats up............and two (full 6 car) in the shed. That was it. On a sunday!! Best bit? Only ONE set of leads were working in the whole shed - all the rest were faulty The end result was that we got a train, but couldn't have access to traction current - so we did the whole refresher based on theory. Don't get wrong, the day went a lot quicker................but what a joke when you can't get a train for refresher training on a sunday

LU move customers from A to B, they used to do it via 'C'.

Yes about 50% of the delays are on the Inner Rail. I wonder if all our young antipodean friends will understand the significance of that statement?

I'm on ATOR this week and had the C stock refresher at Hammersmith on sunday (as trainers don't work bank holidays ) Oi - I'll have you know I am doing training next Monday - unless of course you are referring to Ashfield House trainers Actually, the reason boils down to a union agreement that as many staff as possible should be booked off on Bank Holidays. So, even though they keep increasing the Bank Holiday service (remember - it used to be a Sunday service, now it is a Saturday service ) there is still no training carried out on a Bank Holiday (well, except for me next Monday ;D ;D)
