Why was the C stock stopping mark at KX moved up to the end of the platform? Now it ensures that people coming from the tube lines have to walk all the way up the platform to reach the train, whereas before the stopping mark was positioned to allow people using the old gated entrance to reach the train a little faster.

it was decomissioned when they closed the rear exit for the refurb but, inexplicably, hasnt been recomissioned for the re-opening. the platform was staffed and we had to get the right from station staff on the old 6 car mark due to dodgy monitors, but now we have equally bad monitors with hundreds of people legging it from the interchange up the platform. every driver i've spoken to has agreed it is unacceptable and it's only a matter of time before there is a serious pti incident at KX westbound involving a c stock due to the ridiculousness of the stopping mark/platform entrance setup. most drivers are responsible enough to ask for the right if they dont think its safe (esp during the peak) but as we all know there are enough drivers who wont kick up a fuss even when something is blatantly unsafe. i'm amazed the h&s reps havent done something about this.
interstingly enough, a dmt told me that metronet totally disconnected the wiring of the old 6car mark monitors so its not simply a case of turning them back on.
either way, that platform should still be staffed whatever the c stock stopping mark.

Does Metronet read this forum!?!?
I was at KX this weekend and was shocked to see a brand new triple OPO monitor protuding from the ceiling! The housing, the monitors, the cabling, all of it looked quite new and shiny.
All that needs to happen now is for the C stocks to start stopping there again.

Couldn't say for sure, but we're always saying people 'high up in the food chain' read this 'ere humble forum - perhaps this is 'proof in the pudding'

The High-Ups used to read Underground News, probably still do.

Any update on this? The triple monitors were sitting around non-functioning until...
...last week when I actually saw them working! Have the C-stocks started stopping "short" now? My first trains from Liverpool Street have (un)fortunately have been on A stocks (which I prefer) last week.

Yep, the C stocks are now actually using the monitors, and their last two carriages are now stopping in prime "OMG MUST CATCH TEH TRAIN" territory near the east end of the SSL platforms.
