Apologies if this has already been mentioned before.
I was travelling through Edgware Road today, and noticed what appears to be a new monitor on platform 2, which shows a live video camera view of the 4 DMIs that sit over the tracks in the stations circulation area. Full marks to whoever decided to add this, as I'm sure it's rather useful to both the SAs and passengers alike, particularly Wimbleware users. Would I be right in saying that relaying the existing DMIs information via video camera was easier than adding a new DMI showing all 4 platforms on one display?

LU move customers from A to B, they used to do it via 'C'.

It was an idea put forward by my ex-shift partner (when I was a DMT). He is now the Communications Manager for the C&H at Baker Street and this was his solution to a long standing problem. Customers used to play 'platform tennis' at Edgware Road, they would have to go up to the booking hall to find the next District train but by the time they got there it had gone. They then spent the day going backwards and forwards between platforms chasing trains! This rather clever idea means that they can see instantly where the next train is without the need to go to the booking hall or stand on the over bridge (hedging their bets!). I met with him yesterday for lunch whilst I was taking some non-operational staff on a line tour. We stopped off at Edgware Road for him to give us an overview of the problems faced with real time information and to take a look at the monitors. I will let him know you think it's a good idea, he'll be really pleased.

Quite a coincidence, two threads about it in one day!
How long has it been there?

My mate from the C&H popped in as a guest and is over the moon that you think the screens are a good idea.
