in the northern line info leaflet at the back is the planned engineering works for other lines, under the hammersmith and city line it says
24/25 june and 1/2 july no service hammersmith to barking seams a bit silly putting this why not just put suspended completly etc.
you are going to get a lot of tourists in the middle of the summer holidays standing arounds traceing the line to only find its not working at all .
whats everone else think on this matter.

I agree, it would be simpler to say the whole line's closed.

No service between Hammersmith and Barking or No service on the whole line; not that much of a difference.
I think there were sticking to the same format used throughout the rest of the leaflet, where there would specify the names of the stations between which service was suspended.

Yes chaps, but you know what the 'dear' public are like, no matter how you present the information, there is still someone who will have problems interpreting it. I usually find it is the commuter who is the most clueless when it comes to interpreting/acting upon information, whereas a tourist or someone with a limited command of English is the more adept traveller. Its a funny old world.
