CIRCLE LINE: On Saturday 29, Sunday 30 April and Bank Holiday 1 May, suspended between Edgware Road and Liverpool Street (via Kings Cross).
A limited early morning and late evening replacement bus service operates between Edgware Road and Liverpool Street, serving all stations.
Journey times may be extended by up to 45 minutes.
----------
Is this in both directions?

The line is suspended in both directions. I would think the replacement bus service would be running both directions.

I think all us LU staff can take this as a useful reminder that what is obvious to us is not always obvious to the passenger!

Please engage brain before posting Joe........... Sam That was somewhat unnecessary. If taken literally, the notice applying only to Circle, it was ENTIRELY possible that the shutdown was on outer rail only, buses operating in that direction. So Joe was entirely reasonable in thinking the Inner rail was not affected. If it had been any other line, of course both directions would be affected equally, but the notice does not mention H&C etc. So, please engage brain before posting Sam............

Many years ago, at Mansion House station when the Chelsea flower Show was on, we were constantly being asked "Does this train go to Sloane Square ?" so we put a blackboard out with a very arty picture of a flower pot with Roundels sprouting from it - well, I thought it was arty :-) - and underneath the message : "ALL TRAINS STOP AT SLOANE SQUARE". We were then asked "How do I get to Wimbledon from Sloane Square? etc, so I changed it to "ALL TRAINS GO TO ----" but after further questions we finally settled on 'ALL TRAINS CALL AT SLOANE SQUARE" !

Hopefully something called common sense kicks in by then...! If a line is suspended between Edgware Rd and Liverpool Street, that means that there are no trains between Edgware Rd and Liverpool street, regardless of direction. And, also, if the release says that a replacement bus service operates BETWEEN Edgware Rd and Liverpool Street, it means that it operates between those points in both directions. If it said FROM Edgware Rd to Liverpool street it'd be a different matter! Anyway, why on earth would they suspend a line in one direction anyway? Please engage brain before posting, Phil....

Well, they have suspended the Central line in one direction, apparently!
Furthermore, at this moment the problems map is highlighting the Central with a message about the Victoria line!!

Perhaps - "In Both Directions" would have been appropriate ?

Anyway, why on earth would they suspend a line in one direction anyway? IIRC it actually happened. Stalled train is the first that springs to mind.

LU move customers from A to B, they used to do it via 'C'.

I think all us LU staff can take this as a useful reminder that what is obvious to us is not always obvious to the passenger! An extremely salient point. As far as I am concerned there are no stupid questions here. I've worked for LU for 17 years and non LU staff here put my knowledge to shame!
