A work colleague of mine recently came across a 1963 tube map in her mother's house. She is thinking of selling it on e-bay, and is interested to know how much people would roughly be prepared to pay for it? Would this be a rare item, or can old tube maps be easily purchased at places such as LTM Acton Depot Open Days? A photo of it is here www.flickr.com/photos/stephenk1977/177854968/in/set-1617237/

Maps from the 1960's are quite common on ebay. Maps pre ww2 are more rarer obviously and attract a lot of interest. No harm putting it on ebay though.

I think I paid about £1.99 for my 1963 map. As Tubeboy rightly states, prewar maps make serious money (£25 - £35) on eBay. Look out for wartime issues and 1947 #1 issue, witht he Northern Heights on it.

Ebay currently has a 1963 tube map on sale, in mint condition. Reserve is £3.50. I might even bid for it meself. Recently bought a 1932 tube map in very good condition for £22.

Lucky me then (if I wanted to sell). I have the large (bus-map) size one with the northern heights, bushey etc., AND the wartime one (not to mention 1953, 1956, 1959...........).

Recent but now rare, a nice clean pdf file of the map with a white background - no zones or other embelishments, dd. 2000. The TfL site now has all sorts of variations except the plain original.

I was going to bid for that map, but I forgot about it. £41 for a map, nice thing to have though, and its value will increase as well.

I have a 1933 bus map - any ideas how much - though i thought it might be better donated to the LT museum.?
I need to find it first - came from a relatives bottom drawer if you know what i mean - through clearing the house.
