I know when the "wood line" first opened, there were through workings to/from Moorgate--which were withdrawn in 1869 because of issues with the junction with the Inner Circle @ Baker St. I also know that these were gradually reintroduced in the first decade of the 20th century. I know that in the 1990's that Mets to/from Amersham and Uxbridge were extended through at all times--after years of just a peak hours M-F extension; and that currently all Uxbridge off-peak services run through to the city. Here are my further questions:
1) In the mid-60s Saturday peak services were withdrawn to/from the City. When did these services begin? 2) Are there still plans to run the Uxbridge services all the way to Barking when the Circle/H&C is restructured?

1) I'm not sure when Sat city workings started or finished. From what I know from the earliest days of electric traction most off peak workings terminted at Baker Street. Loco hauled trains in peak hours ran to Liverpool St. In the days of the T/F/OP stock Baker Street was the terminus and Circle/H&C workings ran from there to the city. 2) I believe that the Barking extension has been dropped. The H&C will continue as before with the Circle running to Hammersmith in addition but using Edgware Road as a terminus (after a lap).
