This has been bugging me for the last few days as when I look first thing in the morning, this appears on the live travel news at TfL: METROPOLITAN LINE: From Monday 20 until Friday 24 August, the limited direct trains between Rickmansworth and Watford (via Croxley) will be replaced by buses. However, by the time I wake up around 12-ish, it seems to have gone. Is it just for the morning peak or just TfL testing out a new feature? Cheers, David.

The most recent Amersham branch public timetable shows the only passenger trains using the north curve are the 0050 Watford to Rickmansworth and 0519 Chesham to Watford.
The section has been under possesion for a couple of weeks now, for track renewal by the look of it. The message is probably removed each day once there are no more advertised trains that would be affected.

The most recent Amersham branch public timetable shows the only passenger trains using the north curve are the 0050 Watford to Rickmansworth and 0519 Chesham to Watford. Thats incorrect, in the new timetable there is in fact three in the morning (0537, 0549 & 0604) and then one in the evening at 0050. The reason that message is broadcast on the TFL website is because of the track work thats taken place at Watford South Junction, the new set of points that has been installed to take you round the north curve is currently out of comission, hence you cannot use them! So because of that there has been a whole raft of timetable alterations to get the first trains there. From the new timetable that came in on 2nd Sept one train will stable at Watford every night. Something to do with Neasden depot works if i remember correctly. Hope that helps
