I was surprised to see that Watford line timetables have been made available again after the December 2006 timetable change. For a long time LU didn't publish a timetable for the Watford line but they seem to be doing so again - why?

Isn't it the case that Amersham / Chesham get a lower level of service than Watford, and therefore deserve a proper timetable more? So passengers know that trains leave at (say) xx:00, xx:15, xx:30 and xx:45 (or whatever), as there isn't a "turn up and go" service?

I think this is good news for Peak Time Customers, where there are All Stations, Fasts and Semi-Fasts leaving to all destinations. Though they are more frequent it helps them know what the stopping pattern will be (until it gets changed or their train is cancelled).
The down side is that they will now know that the train is late!
Off Peak the Watfords and Uxbridges run to a clockface timetable every 10 mins. So do the Amersham's but with the Chiltern providing 2 out of the 6 trains per hour

Public Timetable Leaflets.
Two leaflets, for Cockfosters and Oakwood for Jan.1994 suggest that a service with a frequency of less than 9 minutes did not need to be published. "Every 7 min, Every 4 to 8 min,or every 4 to 9 min." was thought all was neccesary but that " At 01,11,21,31,41 & 51 min past each hour " or " 06, 11, 16, 26, 36, 46, 51 & 56' could be advertised to the passengers.
