There was apparently signal failures affecting both the Jubilee and Met at Finchley Rd this morning.
What was the nature of the failure that caused both lines to be affected? Or were they unrelated and this was just coincidence?

Apparently it was the part removed points that used to link the NB Met to the NB Jubilee. There was a loss of indication on the points on the Jubilee side which are still in situ, but this also caused the NB station starter at Finchley Rd Met to remain at danger.

It was indeed a points failure on the points thatno longer exist ;D
Much pain was had by us attempting to report a points failure on a set of points long gone.
The problem centred around the fact that despite the fact the points no longer exist, the signalling and locking still does. A contact within the safety circuits failed and we lost indication on both ends of the points.
The length of time trains remained at a stand was exaccerbated by:
1.)Met train held in the platform had no forward movement for a time.
2.)Supervisor at Finchley Road was none too prompt to confirm that there were indeed no points to secure (and thus the signal could have been passed under rule a lot sooner)
3.) He was also not too prompt in securing up the remaining set of points between there and West Hampstead on the northbound Jubilee.
