Quick question about the 86 stock... I read on wikipedia that the 86ts actually ran on the Jubilee line until a derailment at Neasden lead to the demise of the stock. Is this actually true, and does anybody have any good pictures of the 86ts?

They did in fact derail at neasden yes. One of the green [?] cars is at the Museum Depot @ Acton. Think there are one or two of us on here that have pics on thier pages.

I have a number of pictures on my (no-longer updated ) website HEREThe pictures were taken at Woodford when the three prototypes were put on public display. As to the question about the derailment at Neasden, it is true, and I believe that the cause was, allegedly, a motor falling off as it went over the points southbound approaching Neasden. (Goes to prove they built the 92 stock to the same standard as the prototypes - allegedly ;D)

the 86ts actually ran on the Jubilee line until a derailment at Neasden lead to the demise of the stock. Is this actually true Yes indeed , the driver(who is a good mate of mine ) dropped the brand new experimental carraiges onto the deck just north of neasden platform has never lived it down since . what is even more comical is the fact that he is now an i/o ;D ;D ;D which just goes to prove, that to derail (AN EMPTY TRAIN ) is human!! i put one on the deck myself a few years back

Not sure exactly what you mean - the photos I linked to are all my own pictures, on my own website, which is no longer updated as I no longer have a freeserve account, and am thus unable to make any changes to the site

One more question... Since they ran on the Jubilee line, did they produce more of these prototype units, or was it just the original 3 that ran?

There were a total of 12 cars, 4 of each tpye produced, but there was only ever one 6 car train in service, composed of one unit of each type

I beleive when Wood Lane Phil was a young innocent (!!) apprentice he was on the train that derailed...... *wood lane blue light come in please* (Goes to prove they built the 92 stock to the same standard as the prototypes - allegedly ;D) It just goes to show, that strangely enough the problem re occured some 10 + years later!
