Chiltern are to operate special steam trains from Marylebone via Neasden junction, South/West Ruislip to High Wycombe on the weekend of 1/2 April (not an April fool!). Meals will be offered on the trains if your quick! details on there website: www.chilternrailways.co.uk/content.php?ID=152

And also there is a Model Railway exhibition on the same weekend at Alexandra Palace, see www.warnersgroup.co.uk/exhibitions/london/ for more info. So there’s quite a lot of variety on offer for the 1st/2nd of April, I hope to see all of the specialities on the Saturday at some time or another. (And I hope the weather is good, too!)

TEH W00TZOR ^____^
I will definitely be on one of those trains, probably the 0915 as I won't be able to resist getting up early ;D ;D ;D ;D
Interesting to note that the specials are terminating at High Wycombe and not Princes Risborough - that suggests that Chiltern is unwilling to risk the steam specials on the Saunderton gradients with the new signalling, should the latter decide to play up.

Alternatively it could simply be a reflection of the fact that the railway between High Wycombe and Princes Risborough is already well over 100 years old.

Open mouth, insert foot, hop like an idiot... That part of the railway had its centenary in 1954; this year, it's been around for 152 years.

Took train 2 into Marylebone this morning. Great steam (LMS x 2 too!). Nice day in London. Gorgeous weather. Great family day out. Interviewed by camera crew at Marylebone - if you see the geezer in a cap waxing lyrically about high spead steam on the telly - that's me! Thanks for the heads-up DStock.
