If memory serves me correctly, the first section of the Met from Praed Street opened on the 10th Jan 1863.
Are there any special events on this day (at Museum depot or something) or will it be another normal day?
............here's to another 143 years!

You would think they would at least commemorate it even if only in passing, but no. Nothing that I know of. Maybe when it reaches 150 years they may do a bit more.
The normal service will operate, with no doubt a failure or two just to re-inforce how far we have come since that first day ;D

Maybe a celabratory SPAD is called for Or overcarry?? Or to keep things normal, a multi signal failure at Farringdon and let 3 Circles run in front of every District at Minories

As a rehearsal, this morning saw a stalled train in Baker Street Platform 2, an A-stock reverse in platform 6 and the world's oldest underground railway effectively crucified for the morning peak ;D
Oh you want 3 Jim? We were planning for 2 Circles/H&Cs per 1 District but if you want 3, who are we to disappoint ;D
