Oh man...
This had to happen just before the 66s started running onto LU metals, too!

As a ypungster i lived in Tunbridge Wells (perhaps i shouls be disgusted of), now out NR service was always pretty poor. but these Trains look identical to the stock we used to use to get in and out of the capital.
This was only three years ago, so what were these units used for?

Those are 4TC sets, which were always un-powered. They were used on the run between Waterloo and Weymouth, hauled by beefy 4REPs (which actually had the same power output as a deltic) as far as Bournemouth, where specially adapted class 33s hauled them on to Weymouth.
They were finally ousted when the Weymouth branch was fully electrified, and the Wessex units came in. This would've been in the mid 1980s...

Fortunately there are still two rakes of 4TCs left at Ruislip, along with poor Sarah on C shed road.

Greebings !!
The whole point is that 1 of the 2 x 4TCs has now departed,(To Swanage eventually) and in Ruislip Depot now there is 1 x 4TC ( the one that has been used for push/pull tours and fitted with a tripcock for this purpose ) and one Mk 1 vehicle which is used as a heritage fleet support coach, as far as i know, all other stock has gone. Sarah Siddons is alive but injured, speaking to someone at LTM Acton the other week, it is suspected to have a flashed over traction motor, which makes things rather tricky for the immediate future.

Is that all?!? I thought Ruislip had 4 4TCs! Two on the Gardens end, along with the brakevan, and two between the letter shed and the number shed, in front of B and C roads. I really hope the 4TC with the tripcock can be hung onto; it would be terrible if it were sent away, as then Sarah would have ni purpose! Sarah Siddons is alive but injured, speaking to someone at LTM Acton the other week, it is suspected to have a flashed over traction motor, which makes things rather tricky for the immediate future. Charmed Phil Ouch! I wonder if there will be a chance for LU enthusiasts to chip in to repair it.

It does indeed. There's a couple of pictures (one internal showing the stock to be in remarkably good condition) and a small piece in the new issue of Rail magazine which will be out on Wednesday 23/11. THC

I think that Sarah Siddons shoud be moved to the LTM Acton, Restored to woking order and used on special events like the 1938 stock unit.
