I Live in Chesham and find the through services very useful as it saves me changing at Little chalfont amd i dont want Amersham to get our services and i commute every morning at 0719 and pay nearly 4 grand a year on an annual travelcard

I dunno why they dont have an all day through service to London alternating with Amersham. Amersham is spoilt really in have Chiltern as well as Met to town. It would not hurt to have two Met from the city trains go to Chesham half hourly instead

The reason why such a thing wouldn't work is because of the single lead flat junction at Chalfont - a delay on trains coming up from Amersham or Chesham would result in a delay to the other.

Simple solution to that. Put in a connection at the start of the bend to Chesham so that a train coming off the bracnh can go direct to the southbound/up road. The train going to Chesham could be held at the co-acting entrance signal and wait.

Am i right in thinking when a train comes through from chesham there is about a 15min gap southbound from amersham but northbound is fine infact the two thorugh trains am and pm peak meet each other at chalfont

The decision that was made was always going to be one that would not cost the company either way. To plan extra track costs money.
For any all-day through service, passenger numbers would need to increase by a fair amount.
LU is (sensibly in my opinion) never going to go down the route of offering all-day through services. The consultation was made to offer greater reliability by removing the through services - not the opposite. Through services to a single line will always cause problems. If LU went down that road it wouldn't be many days before the complaints of delays would begin. It's bad enough now with just a handful of through trains. If they are delayed, we hear about it.
Believe it or not, for your 4 grand cheshamman, your direct northbound services normally receive priority over the Uxbridge, Amersham and Watford passengers in terms of rolling stock allocation and junction working.
