Overground is TfL taking over the management of certain National Rail operations within London. (Later the ELLX will be added to this brand). In terms of railway infrastructure (track signals power etc) I would imagine (i'm too lazy to check) they will ultimately remain the responsibility of Network Rail (althought TfL may fund some improvements). TfL (and it's inevitable Private Partners) will be responsible for trains and stations. Again trains will, for the forseeable future, remain to be to mainline standards (as they will share tracks with other mainline services on most routes). Again service patterns won't improve significantly as these are already 'metro' level services. The biggest changes that will be seen over the first few years will be rebranding, station improvements (heading towards the standards on Underground stations I'd hope) and changes to fares and ticketing to bring in line with LU.

As far as the East London Line is concerned, the line will be electrified to the standard 3rd-rail system. Likewise the signalling will be to Network Rail standards, mainly using 3-aspect colour lights. The Dalston - New Cross Gate section will be operated by LUL, as will the new control centre at New Cross Gate, but to Network Rail procedures.

LU move customers from A to B, they used to do it via 'C'.

I had a look at the London Overground Stock mock-up in Derby yesterday. It is next to the 'S' Stock production line. There are two mock-up's, one for the saloon and one for the drivers cab. The moquette reminded me of the old 'D' Stock orange and brown design! ;D

I hate to do this, but... It's written like: "Do you have any photos?"

Come on everyone, give the guy a break! I thought we were here to discuss railway matters rather than critic eachothers spelling/grammer? The answer dazz285 is, unfortunately, no. The production line is quite a secure area and BTUK do not allow photography as a result. Sorry.
