I know that when you are using pay as you go you are allowed to pass your oyster card on to another person for them to use.
What I was wondering is, if two people step onto a bus, can the same oyster pay as you go card, be used twice, to pay the fare for both passengers?

Absolutely not,
You'd get the Double Entry code flash up.

I think I've seen the phrase 'it can not be used /concurrently/ by two people'... so no it can't be used for two people on the same bus at the same time

Basically the rule is - one card, one person per journey. If, however, you aren't going to use it that day, it is perfectly ok to let someone else use it themselves.

Yet paper tickets are not transferable, I am thinking particularly of one day bus passes and 1 day travelcards. Nothing to stop that happening though, but technically not allowed. Before anyone says it, I know in some cases Oyster PAYG is cheaper, but some people dont want Oyster as they believe TFL are tracking them!

TfL ran an initiative at Brixton station a few years ago where if people dropped their used travelcards/tickets into a box at the exit a donation would be made to a local homeless charity.

I think that was back in LRT/LUL days. (Wonders whether such things fit into TfL's corporate style...) I do know that similar things take place at other stations too.

Oyster PAYG is transferable but can't be used as mentioned above.
HOWEVER, what happens if person A uses their PAYG as reaches the cap. Then gives their PAYG to person B. How can person B be charged for any journeys?
