Sad news indeed, I enjoyed it growing up as a child in the 80s!

Perhaps his Saturday evening ITV show (Beadles About) went past its sell-by date by 2 or 3 series, which seemed to vilify him in the mindset of viewers and perhaps TV bosses alike, however he appears to have been a man of great humility.
I think many people might realise tonight and in the coming weeks that we've lost a national treasure and icon of humour and the practical joke.
RIP Sir

i'm getting all nostalgic about stunts happening, jeremy coming along in disguise and making a bad situation worse then when he revealed himself the look on the victims face was priceless, who remembers the alien caper?

Classic TV - he was the master of that kind of entertainment! He will always be a part of Saturday night.

The one I remember was where a woman, having parked her car in the parking lot, came back to discover her car, surrounded by....
Cars, just like hers. Identical colour and make... camera pans back to reveal just how many there were!
;D

I saw this on the ITV Evening News the other night, near the end of the programme it had a big banner with 'Breaking News' at the bottom of the screen. It made me go completely cold. I have always been a big fan of Beadle and thought he was hilarious, such a good entertainer and fundraiser. He was one of the few people who really took me back to my childhood in the eighties and bought a lot of memories back for me. TV these days (like everything really) is no good and was better in the glory days such as the 1980's. I am really saddened by the death of Jeremy Beadle and hope that his passing was not too painful, although I believe he was in a coma when he died. Very sad news indeed.
We'll all miss you Jeremy.

I've got strong memories of JB before he did GFAL or any of other TV that would later make him a household name. Back in the late 70's/Early 80's he used to be a presenter on LBC here in London.
As a child I'd listen to Jellybean on a Saturday (I think) morning presented by "Jeremy James Anthony Gibson Beadle Bum". Much of the stuff he did here (prank calls, on this day etc) would form his stock in trade when he made the move to the big screen. ISTR that he also did Sunday nights on LBC for a time, either 9 or 10pm with quizzes, guests and general anarchic fun.
RIP JB.

I remember loving Beadles About. I was just watching all the clips on youtube - they were so funny... It's amazing how the memories of that period of life came back when I watched them.
