Please note, that having lived North for a number of years now, I insist on a head on my beer!! Coincidentally, one of the fellow attendees at Anne's birthday celebrations recommended to me a bar near Chancery Lane called Ye Olde Mitre. Apparently it is everything a traditional British pub should be, and will serve your beer with a head if you ask. I've not had a chance to sample this establishment yet, but it does get good reviews. pets.webshots.com/video/3077457010040941110WVmffw

Ye Olde Mitre is very, very old. It was for many years a part of Cambridgeshire, being owned by the Bishop of Ely. I'm not sure if this is still the case. The opening times there are quite odd, I don't think it is open weekends at all and I don't think late evening.
