What has happened to all of the vending machines on the network? They all seem to have disappeared. Well they have on the Met anyway.

Apparently one was caught smoking on a tube platform some time back. Someone else can insert the joke here

A good idea they were, but why not have summat like at Embankment; a bloke manning a stall? And the choccy was cheaper than the machines too! Bit pointless I think, having machines as well as a shop on site or very close by... but the thinking to it is I guess it relied purely on impulse buying and anyone foolish enough to think the machine wouldn't just swallow the money...

I can understand them being at one with nowt nearby or on site, but some stations had the machines as well as a facility on the platform...
Costa Coffee... hmmm, ain't seen my mate that works there for a while! Wonder if I scared him off... May be he's jealous because I reached 30 before him! ;D

Most on platform kiosks are only open for some of the day... the machines theoretically would be working all day... there's been a number of times when I've thought i need some chocolate to get me home and it's not available...

A lot of platform kiosks seem to be disappearing, e.g South Ken and Earls Court.
More cold drinks machines would be a good idea - it's all very well telling people to carry a bottle of water in hot weather, but we could make it easier to actually buy one.

I guess the rental fee charged by TFL are a 'disuader' for the kiosks being re-let?
It's a shame a lot of the kiosks are closing; they add that individual touch to the stations...

Has it changed then. It was called Flying Coffee Bean when I worked there... I can't see that they generate enough money to keep them there. The last thing people want when down a 30c tunnel is chocolate! More drink ones though would be a good idea, although it would be nice if they were cheaper!

How many kiosks are there left on platforms? I know there are ones at Liverpool Street (Outer rail Circle) and Acton Town (Westbound). Is there one at Stratford Central Line? There is one at Brixton but that's in the ticket hall outside the barriers.

There is a kiosk at Stratford Regional, westbound Central.
Other kiosks behind the barriers include Gloucester Road e/b, Wimbledon, and Hammersmith w/b.

How many kiosks are there left on platforms? Woodford and South Woodford (or maybe Snaresbrook) have Frothy Coffees. Both on the Londonbound platforms and generally open for morning peak only as far as I can tell.

How many kiosks are there left on platforms? Southfields still has it's outlet - and although not proper LU, Upminster & Barking have coffee/light snacks bars on the platforms.

Rayners Lane eastbound has a kiosk. I should have known that - I bought a chocolate bar from there on Monday when I was touring the system taking photos from the quiz (I photographed at 28 stations on Friday and Monday, plus there are some I took while on the 38 stock tour).

Theres one on the s/b island at Golders, or was... Also there was one at EFY on one of the platforms... both are nearly always shut after 10.00... as they have always been closed when I have gone to these stations!

At my Local Station in the mornings the Xpresso on time opens from the first train(5:18 City Loop(Soon to be the 4:38 City Loop) to around 9AM and the station Master sells soft drinks. Other than that there is a Drinks and a snack machine which sometimes don't give you anything and Steal your money. Most stations have snack machine on them. Flinders has a kiosk on Platfroms 6/7. Melb Central has the Shopping Centre's food court out the front of the Swanston Street exit.
