Just recorded a short sample video onto a SD memory card on my digital camera. Now, I've managed to get it onto the computer, but none of my selected media players will play it... I have tried Real Player, Windoze Media and the Creative Media Player add-on that comes as part of my MP3 and its media folder.
So, the computer recognises it as an AVI file, but it won't play!
Real say it needs more software from its site to play it, but there isn't any software to support it. Media Player from Windoze says its an non compatible format, but AVI is in the list of recognised files!
Next Step is...
a. forget about it and delete the file ?

but AVI is in the list of recognised files! AVI format is only a container, so you can stuff almost anything inside. Very likely video is encoded in the MPEG4 format - need your camera model to tell for sure.

According to this page, you camera records video in MJPEG. No wonder nothing recognizes it... If you are going to install some codec pack, check if it supports MJPEG, otherwise it would be a waste of time and space.
