According to this article, six out of ten women think being a size zero is attractive. How many of the guys here agree? Personally, I much prefer the curvaceous look; it's easier on the eye, healthier and gives a guy something to grab hold of . Unbelievably, 97% of the 5,000 women surveyed believe a size 12 is "fat"! What is the country coming to? I'd rather a Kelly Brook than a Keira Knightly, any day. In the immortal words of Sir Mix-A-Lot: I like big butts and I cannot lie. ;D

Size zero women are fugly. I prefer women who are not afraid to maintain a healthy weight; it implies that they are smarter than the average vacuum-skulled moron that many attractive females have become these days...

I would prefer a woman who doesn't double as a xylophone; If anything a survey of mens attitudes towards this should be published. Maybe more girls would take notice and not starve themselves unhealthally?

I like women to be slim, but size zero is just unnatural. Magazines/tv portray these women as successful and desirable, the reverse is true. You get has been "celebrities" talking about this, saying it is good, little realising the impact those words have on women, particularly teenage girls [who look to these saddos as role models? ??]. Equating being skinny, with confidence and happiness, well the media do well out of it. Some sick minds are in the media. Its just yet another symptom of how sick this world is.

I just think the size zero thing is overrated - I hardly see any stick-thin people on the tube (where I encounter the largest number of people) in London.
I do like slim people but size zero is just like a stick - reminds me of NGO adverts on famine aid.

I prefer women who are woman shaped. These stick insect celebrities are unnatural, unattractive, and an incitement to anorexia. Portland has a large Asian population so we actually have specialty stores catering to "size zero", but we also have an unusually large population of tall women. BTW Sir Mix-A-Lot is from Seattle, our near neighbor.

Should it matter at all what men think, since women aren't just for men to ogle at.

Should it matter at all what men think, since women aren't just for men to ogle at. Very true, but at the end of the day, those single beings amongst us have to look, otherwise i may never find the lady of my dreams. Personally, I don't just go on looks but the whole package including personality, intelligence, attitude etc. Just to get myself back on topic, I like a few more curves.

I didn't say that men shouldn't look, and I admire your implication that one isn't single. However anybody who is interested in a lady because of their looks alone is stupid.

Should it matter at all what men think, since women aren't just for men to ogle at. Quite possibly yes, if we assume the women surveyed are heterosexual, then their ideal body type is probably based on what they believe will be attractive to men. Of course I could be totally out to lunch and they could be more concerned with looking attractive to other women. Either way we should be concerned about promotion of an unhealthy body image.

Just walk into any newsagents and look at the plethora of magazines - once you've stopped looking at the top shelf below you'll find the fashion, celebrity, & gossip tittle tattle magazines. The content of these range from paparazzi voyeurism, money making & carefully orchestrated self publicity or hear-say 3rd party guesswork about racist sad brother z-list characters or the latest fad diet & way it does/does not work. Generally speaking, who reads them - WOMEN! Need I say more. No wonder women have a skewed view of their appearance. Time for a big reality check methinks

Just walk into any newsagents and look at the plethora of magazines - once you've stopped looking at the top shelf However I have heard that is is alleged by those that DO look at the top shelf that the disrobed ladies there displayed are generally far from size zero..............so presumably this ought to imply that it's curvaceous bodies that appeal to the average (top-shelf) male. Sales figures are a good guide to what's popular usually.

It should deffinately matter what men think of womens figures if women are surveyed about how attractive they think a size zero looks. Size zero is unhealthy; anything that can make people more healthy is good, surely?

Generally speaking, who reads them - WOMEN! Need I say more. No wonder women have a skewed view of their appearance. Generally speaking. I don't read them myself, but I find that newspapers are just as bad. It's not just all these pictures and articles about diets and whatnot, how about advertising? Forget role models and whatnot for a moment; You have to think about some of the emotional trickery involved that some people might be taken into. I remember there was some ad that Weight Watchers did quite recently, where some husband was glad he had his significant other 'back', just because she'd lost a few pounds or something. How's that supposed to make Woman A in a relationship feel? A majority of women are very much into fashion and whatnot (I couldn't give a flying rat's tail). The thing is, because there are so many women out there being taken in by the whole Size Zero wave, and because the majority of them are all into catwalks and whatnot where all this Size Zero stuff lies, there is hardly going to be pressure on designers and whatnot to get rid of the Size Zero. For once, the media should stop asking WOMEN whether a Size Zero is attractive or not, amongst other senseless surveys which only provoke not-so-healthy thinking. Size Zero. What a load of poppycock. I'm a Size 8 and some people have already started saying I'm looking a bit on the 'podgy' side, which I take great offence to - I have enough trouble trying to find clothes that fit me as it is, without having to take a trip to Gap Kids.

About as sexy as going to Harvester for lunch and ordering a rack of ribs with BBQ glaze. Tastes pretty good but doesn't exactly float my boat in the sexiness department.

A size zero is a UK size 4 In reality woman should be the size they are happiest with. They shouldn't need to conform to any preconceived idea's of what is perfect of acceptable. However is size is a subject, from a straw poll at work all the guys preferred a healthy look. Not skin and bones.

As long as she doesn't out weight me, well that would be something i don't mind. I would prefer a slim woman, but all in all aslong as their a nice person and i like who they are and they aren't over a size 16 i don't really mind.
Remember at the end of the day it's what she is like that really counts.

Well, I don't really know what is "size zero", but if it reminds of a concentration camp survivor - it is certainly not very attractive .
