Hello guys,
I've uploaded a video I took quite some time ago on board a Leyland Olympian Tri-Axle on what is the most treacherous motorway in Hong Kong. I've uploaded it on YouTube for you people to enjoy!
A little background:
The Tuen Mun Highway is the very first expressway in Hong Kong and was built to link Tuen Mun (a "new town" back then) to the city centre. It is notorious for accidents due to its narrow lanes, sharp turns, steep slopes combined with the extremely busy traffic.
My love for busses started precisely on this route. As a kid, we made the long trip to my grandmother's place every now and then, and the route was dominated by these (massive back then) Leyland Olympian tri-axles. Being a kid, I was awestruck and found the trip amazing.
Thus, I simply had to get my lazy bum and tape the route due to its sentimental value.

Thanks for making that film, it makes driving London's 25 route look easy!

Thanks.
Haha, I've been on the 25 many times on the bendies and it's a nasty route - just seriously slow and jam-packed with passengers who push like cattle!

I notice at the start, or shortly before we join the main intersection, that there is a curious meter, with digital reader displayed $30 or might have been .30
Liked it, quite fun...

Thanks for the comments.
Artery, that digital meter is actually the fare display. HK doesn't have a single blanket fare, but multiple fares on each bus route, which is based on the distance to the final destination of the particular bus route. That display shows HK$3.0 (20 pence!!!) because the driver reset it upon leaving the last stop before the highway. You also see the "Octopus" card reader (which Mr Livingstone copied with the Oyster!).
