Hi all Insted of fiddling around with the SWT/tube websites i thought i'd come straight to the pro's! With all these differnt ways of buying tickets (phone/internet/in person etc) and the different options avaible (day pass/oyster/apex etc) i was wondering what is the cheapest way for me and 3 friends to get from Poole to the Hammersmith Apollo on 18/04. Obviously this requires a SWT service from Poole - Waterloo (the 16:01, i belive), a tube from Waterloo to Hammersmith and then returning. However, the returning triain (most probably the 00:05) only gets as far as Bournemouth. So, do i go for a return to Poole, single to Poole and return to Bournemouth etc?! It's all very confusing!! And can i get Apex at those times! Anyway, being students we dont have much money, so any advice on how to do things on the cheap (without having to join SWT and be a driver/guard on those particular trains!) would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

www.moneysavingexpert.com has some good tips on getting the cheap deals. Young Persons Railcard, cost £20 a year, save 34%... Investigate splitting the journey into segments, Poole to Southampton/ Winchester, Winchester to Basingstoke, etc this may work out cheaper - as long as your trains stop at the destinations on each ticket, you could just save a nice little packet!

I'd take a stab at a Poole - London Travelcard with a YP discount
