Thanks for that Dmitri. Looking at the wall behind the train, I expect that there will be a few tree surgeons visiting this stretch of line today. I note some droppings on the line in the vicinity of the tree. One can only hope that no pigeons were hurt in this incident.

We had something much bigger than that across the WSR at Stogumber the autumn before last. Some damage was expected after storms, so I was proceeding with caution, and the PW guys in the cab. Once it was spotted it was out with the chainsaws (the tree was up to cab-window level). 35 mins later - service resumed!!!
