Today is the 55th anniversary of the opening of the Stockholm Metro. Services started at 0900 on Sunday 1st Octoer 1950, between Slussen and Hökarängen. Anders Rehnström has posted a photo from the early days here. It shows Johanneshov (now Gullmarsplan) station in the early days, when the T-Bana tracks in the area were shared with trams.

Is today the day?
Good thing that you keep track of it, since I have been buried in union work these last weeks.
Anyhow, interesting photo by AGR (who is a controller now, and one of the few people on the job left who actually worked on the trams back when we had them). Just about everything in that picture has changed, and there is of course no catenary etc left. The old windmill in the picture has been moved three times to make room for expansions and devlopments.
In fact, you would not be able to take that picture today -there is a big office block in the way, as well as a big motorway crossing.
