Received a delivery from Amazon today, a collection of DVDs. Opened it up to discover that the outer box had been damaged during packing at the factory. Phoned Amazon, explained and was offered a 10% refund with no argument. This was credited as a gift voucher to my account. Good work, I thought.

Never had a problem with Amazon or Play.com myself, and have found them to be quite good when it comes to refunds/exchanging etc. Of course, like most big businesses now days, they're not going to argue over something they can get hold of for 90% less than they sell it for... ;D

I've always found play.com a great example of how online company should operate.
Been using them for about 3 years and in that time, virtually every order has been trouble free. The Royal Mail lost one item, which Play replaced with no hassle and 3 items got' lost' in the local sorting office, but were fairly quickly found (not Play's fault).
Bought my daughter a Nintendo Ds, which developed a screen fault, Play arranged a courier to collect and offered a full refund/ replacement about a week later.
I've never had problems either with Amazon, but find their delivery charges and the free delivery a bit of a con. Much prefer Play.com's P+P included in the price and a fast delivery time.
I would have no problems recommending both Amazon & Play, my rant (see elsewhere) is when the high street, so called experts, get involved online.

I use Play, very good. Amazon's pretty good though. For CD's i use www.bangcd.com. Very cheap and free P&P.
