Never heard of that one, what with being scared witless [Happened to me a few years back with a nutter with a knife to my throat] and panicking, who is to say you would enter the number correctly?

When you get sent a PIN and want to change that, and enter say 1234, the ATM's are sometimes programmed to reject these combinations... excepting the fact that this may have originated from the US, they use five digit PIN for ATM cards...

Having been a programmer on a relevant team, at a leading bank, I can confirm this is NOT true.
