I hear all the National Rail TOC's have agreed on a zonal fares system for the Z1 - Z6 stations... Good, least that will simplify things... I guess its a step towards roll out of the 'Oyster for all' thing being dabbled about... I also hear that the Smart card that SWT are envisaging on introducing will NOT be compatible with oyster... Hmmm...

You'd have thought that Stagecoach SWT would have been one of the first to fall in since they already run buses in London with Oyster enabled......

I wonder what effect this will have on the north-western end of the transport system. If you plot the zone boundries geographically, you see that it's almost malicious how TfL excludes stations like Bushey and the others in that region from zone 6.

When TfL takes over the Silverlink Metro service - Watford Junction will become part of Zone A.

Ahh, but where will be the transition point between the zones? Having hatch end in a thin slither of zone 6 seems very strange, so will the transition point be bushey, or watford high street?

The boundary will be as current.... Headstone Lane will be the last station in zone 6.

Headstone Lane? How did it get a name like that?

Just looked on wikipedia and there is no reference of why and how it came to have that name, but does advise is is best practice when intending to use the station to have cash handy as there are no ATM's at or near the station.... Can't quite think why...
