Hi
I am planning a trip to photograph this unit on Monday, but only if it is running (obvously!).
Can anyone tell me if it is still running at the moment? I would be catching the 0809 Aylesbury - Princes Risborough if so.
Thanks guys
David

Hi, it should be allocated on that service and including the return 08:39 Prince Risborough-Aylesbury
Speaking of Bubble Cars, a Bubble Car is going to be used for the RHTT Train
Ta to James Stearn for the timings below

RHTT is the Rail Head Treatment Train.
In other words, its leaf fall season and its the time of year where they try to avoid trains slipping all over the place by putting down a mixture to enable better adhesion.

RHTT is the Rail Head Treatment Train.l In less pretentious times, known as the Leaf Clearing Train.

Just out of interest, is RHTT the same as Sandite, or is that something different? Ahh, memories of two car EPBs painted in a funny railtrack orange colour.

Those EPB units were later painted in a lime green and royal blue 'wave' type livery... very good it looked... And some of the Sandite Units were former 4-SUB units; you could tell which was which by looking at the buffer beam... the SUB version was ever so slightly thicker...!

RHTT encompasses both Sandite trains and Water Cannon trains and presumably anything else that can be used (weren't there some "rail-scrubbers" around a few years ago?). Some of the workings detailed above are covered by the green-liveried 3-car Class 117 DMU and others by "bubble-cars", though I don't know any further details... Regards, Geoff

Just so people know. The workings that operate over LUL metals are formed of the GREEN class 117 DMU, as this reaches the minimum requirement of two carriages.
The only time the other Bubble cars would enter LUL metals would be to reverse at Amersham to go back north.
