Officially, when did drivers no longer have to wear the uniform cap? About 5 minutes after they were issued... ;D Most of my colleagues on the Central somehow 'lost' thiers in the tunnel between White City and Stratford... I know of one example being used as a scarecrow and at least two that ended up as an accessory for Guy Fawkes!!!

LU move customers from A to B, they used to do it via 'C'.

A long, long time ago. I joined in the late eighties and it was optional then.

From reading the report into the Moorgate crash I got the impression that it was optional then (1975), but I could be wrong.
